Privacy at OpenKitchen

Account information and browser storage

We store your account email, display name, password hash, recipes and account preferences to provide this service. Account and recipe data are retained until you delete them. Hashed login-attempt identifiers are retained for up to five minutes to limit abuse. Your password is hashed with Argon2. Session cookies keep you signed in for up to seven days, and a security cookie protects signed-out forms for up to one hour. Your selected homepage language is saved in your browser until you change it or clear site data.

Recipes and connected ChatGPT tools

Recipes start private. Private recipes are available only to your signed-in account and clients you authorize, such as ChatGPT. When you use our ChatGPT tools, we receive the search terms, recipe content and account identifiers included in tool requests. Requested recipe results are returned to ChatGPT. OpenAI processes information received by ChatGPT under its own privacy policy.

Submitting a recipe for sharing makes it available to administrators for review. After approval, its content and author name are available to everyone, including search engines. Editing an approved recipe sends it back for approval. You can cancel a sharing request to return it to your private collection. Making it private removes access through this service; copies made by others may remain.

Service providers and images

Our hosting and storage providers process account and recipe data to run the service. Account and private recipe records are stored server-side, separate from public media storage. Recipe photos and other site images may load from public media storage or third-party image hosts, which receive the image request and your IP address. A public image URL can be viewed independently of a recipe's visibility. We do not sell your personal data.

Optional device connections

Device connections are managed after sign-in in account settings. When enabled, selected recipe content is sent to your connected device service. Connection credentials are encrypted at rest and are never included in ChatGPT tool responses. We also retrieve your device service region, registered device names, models and masked serial-number details to display in account settings. Cached device details expire after 24 hours and may be refreshed while connected. Turn the connection off to delete saved credentials. Disconnecting does not remove recipes already copied to the device service.

Your controls and privacy requests

You can edit your recipes, cancel sharing requests and manage device sync in your account. You can disconnect the plugin in ChatGPT to stop using that connection. Delete your account in settings to remove your account and recipes from this service. Deleting your account does not delete copies already held by ChatGPT, other services or other people; their own policies and controls apply. Operational logs and provider backups may follow their own retention schedules. To request help, access, correction or deletion, contact @acikmutfak or email info@thebermuda.us.
